Too Many Subscriptions

As you may or may not know, I LOVE my social networks. I’m on pretty much everything that anybody actually uses and I actually try to actively keep up with them. If I follow or list you on Twitter, I read about 75% of tweets that go through my timelines. Now with this Facebook timeline thing, I’m sort of doing the same on Facebook as well. I’m pretty much up to date on everything, so much that if you were to ever show me a new meme, I’ve probably already seen it hours or even days ago.

In addition to the above, I have Tumblr, Google +, Empire Avenue, GetGlue and a bunch more I haven’t even listed yet. It’s almost an addiction to have a presence everywhere, but it’s even more of one to stay updated on everything. There are days which I spend hours staring at feeds going and not realize it. There are just way too many subscriptions these days. It’s amazing to think that 10 years ago, there was no such thing as Twitter and we had to wait for the news to tell us what happened. Now I actively follow 380+ people and keep up to date with their content and blogs. I may not reply or comment all the time on things, but trust me, I do read them.

How many of you are like me, stuck in a world of too many subscriptions? It’s a crazy world, bombarded with information. As I discussed in a previous post, I don’t think I could ever give it up. Atleast on the iPad there is a glorius App called Flipboard to make things easier.

However, now I’m going to pick up a real book and read it. Oh ya, I’m on a social network for books too.
