We woke up very early on Day 5 too find ourselves at Saint Thomas, one of the US Virgin Islands.
My parents had already been here on a previous Caribbean cruise so we took a boat 30 minute boat ride to another island called Saint John. Here are some things I saw on the boat ride:
Alligator rock:
Somehow got this pretty straight photo despite a shakey ride:
At Saint John, we took an open safari (bus with no windows) tour to views that looked like true paradise. I’ve never seen water so beautifully coloured in my life.
On our ride we saw some donkeys.
Back on the boat it was another formal dinner. We ordered another bottle of Fazi Battaglia Verdicchio, a sweet white wine. Also it was my first time eating snails. At least they weren’t still in shell.
I really enjoyed this mini seafood cocktail of shrimp, scallops, mussels and calamari.
Then I had this chilled apple cider and goat cheese soup. It was similar to the previous chilled granny smith apple but had these delicious crunchy pieces of apple.
For my main, I ordered the lobster and shrimp. The service on Princess Cruises is so exquisite that they even offer to help you take the meat out of the shells. I didn’t mind doing it myself. Besides, they were basically out of shell when they were presented.
For dessert I had an orange souffle. I think souffles are my new favourite dessert.
After dinner, the show for the night was Once Upon A Dream. A girl while dreaming falls in love and the story is told through a strange series of covers including a Beatles medley and Pink’s “Get The Party Started”. Seriously, those two things were in the same play. The Princess Theatre seriously has the ability to have some crazy production and effects.
