Dollarama Review: Hot Designs Nail Polish

dscf0286 I thought it was a steal to find these for $3 at Dollarama. I usually see them at the Walmart compulsive buy aisle for like $9.

They are like nail polish markers. Each was two sided.

It also came with cleaning pins that look like they could double as the thing that helps remove a sim card from your iPhone.

The sad part is when I opened it, a lot of the pen end was jabbed inside, rendering it semi useless. It’s supposed to be like a fine point pen sized thing, but since it got sucked inwards it can no longer handle details like it’s supposed to.

Boo, what a dud. I’m glad I didn’t pay $9 for this and could potentially still use it as regular polish.

Dollarama Review: Jazzee

I bought this by accident. I thought I was buying Febreeze. I mean it looks a lot like Febreeze. But I ended up with Jazzee. Who named this thing anyways?

The good thing is, it works like Febreeze. Whatever I spray ends up smelling fresh (though it doesn’t have a strong a scent as actual Febreeze). It’s also half the price!

Still, Jazzee is a stupid name.

Dollarama Review: Dog Deer Costume

img_6015

Dollarama has a wide variety of pet stuff including some Christmas costumes! Teddy became a reindeer without breaking the bank. The only con is they only have one size but we managed to squeeze both parts through his giant head.

How does he look?

Dollarama Review: Insta Peel

I haven’t done a Dollarama Review in a while, but I thought this thing would be worthy of one. After all, it is described as the revolutionary concept in peeling!

img_5792

I mean for $3 how could I resist right?  It promised to make my carrot peeling mess free.

img_5794

Here is what it is like. Giant carrot to scale. It takes up a lot of room. I don’t think the handle part needed to be that thick. or long.

img_5795

Anyways, I tested it on the carrot. It was dull. It was also hard to aim where you were peeling, so it took me a long time to actually peel the carrot. I found the carrot shavings also tend to jam the already shitty blade, so every once in a while I need to scrape it.

Sorry Insta Peel, you are not revolutionary.

Funko Suzanne

dscf3814

Oh my god, so I found FUNKOS for $4 at Dollarama! Though it’s possibly the most expensive thing you can buy at Dollarama, it is like $10 off the regular price.

I thought it was kind of crazy that nobody wanted Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren from Orange is the New Black.

dscf3815

She’s honestly one of the most original and complex characters on the show. Plus, she makes an adorable Funko!

Dollarama Review: Fish Shower Curtain

IMG_4501

I haven’t written a Dollarama review in a while but I couldn’t resist posting about this fish shower curtain. The fish are so unbelievably derpy in their happiness.

The curtain itself is plastic and has metal rings, so it’s stronger than the one I accidentally ripped when I tripped in the shower. It is also slightly long for my shower and requires an extra ring.

This is guaranteed to bring you smiles every time you go into the washroom.

Dollarama Review: Reese Snacksters

Did you know these existed? I did not know these existed until I walked into Dollarama today. I bought them and instantly ate them. They taste like you are dipping sticks into melted Reese’s Buttercups, completely with a lumpy texture. My one criticism was that the stick to dip ratio was uneven and there could’ve been way more sticks!

Dollarama Review: Champagne Dreams Bubble Bath

DSCF3738

Though it may look like it, this isn’t a bottle of champagne, it’s a bottle of bubble bath. At $2 it comes with several different scents but I decided that Fresh Strawberries was a nice thing to smell like.

I ran a warm bath and poured half the 300mL bottle into the water. Bubbles were generous and there was a lovely calming strawberry scent. Definitely worth it for a nice relaxing time in the tub.

Dollarama Reviews: Kozmic Colours

DSCF2687

$3 for 4 nail polishes sounded like a total steal. I’ve never heard of Kozmic Colours before but these are so cheap that I couldn’t not try them!

DSCF2689

Plus, I love these pastel colours. They are so appropriate for summer. I tested the teal colour.

DSCF2691

Boom! Not bad right? I used two coats on all my fingers. It goes on thin, so you do need multiple layers but it was relatively easy to apply. I’ve had it on for a few days now and it hasn’t chipped. Definitely not a bad buy.

Dollarama Reviews: Warhead Freezies

DSCF2334

I didn’t know Dollarama sold freezies, let alone Warhead flavoured ones! I couldn’t resist trying these out. They come in 4 flavours: watermelon, blue raspberry, apple and black cherry.

Of course they must be chilled a day before you actually eat them. My first reaction to the pops was “hey this isn’t too sour” but then after about 5 seconds you get the note of sour. I wouldn’t say it was “extreme”, it is just the right amount of sour to both tease your tastebuds and make them still edible.
