Thing I Used Up: May 2018

Oh my, it seems like the last time I posted was the last post of this series! A month passes by so fast. I finally have Fridays off for the summer, so hopefully, I can catch-up on some blogging. I have a lot to post about! But first to keep my de-cluttering resolution, here are the things I used up in May:

  • Smashbox Always Sharp Waterproof Eyeliner
  • The Face Shop The Solution Smoothing Face Mask
  • Nars Orgasm / Laguna Duo (panned a few months ago but wearing thing, so time to go!)
  • Be a Bombshell Some Beach Lip Crayon
  • Tony Mony x Bart Simpson Jeju Volcanic Lava Nose Strip
  • Dr Belmeur Skin Sync Ex Daily Repair Sample
  • Tony Moly Vital Vita 12 Synergy Serum Sample
  • Raccine Delicare Soothing Mask
  • The Face Shop The Solution Pore Care Face Mask

Thrown Away

  • Revlon Instafix Highlight Stick (broken)
  • Sephora Makeup Palette (estimated it’s from 2007, so getting old!)

Anastasia Beverly Hills Aurora Glow Kit

It’s been hard getting back into blogging after a break for wedding planning but going to get back to posting regularly again. I found this Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit at Winners for half the price. Bunz Make-Up Zone has been a great place to keep up to date on where I can get things for a steal.

The colours in the Aurora are beautiful like a unicorn and have a sparkly pigment. I’ve been really into highlighters lately so happy to add this one to my collection.

Things I Used Up: March 2018

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I just got married the past weekend, so it’s been a whirlwind few months. I’ll have a full post on that later when I get my official photos!

Here are some things I used up this Month! I used a lot of masks and moisturizers because I wanted my skin to be perfect for the special day.

  • Laneige water bank moisture cream (mini)
  • Llang On the Skin Truffle Sheet Mask
  • Belif the true cream moisture bomb (sample)
  • Juice Beauty Stem Celluar Anti Wrinkle Moisturizer (sample)
  • SNP Grapefruit Gelato Brightening Mask
  • Soft Miracle foot peeling pack
  • Spongelle Bulgarian Rose
  • The Face Shop the Solution Firming Face Mask
  • The Face Shop x Bart Simpson Juju vocanic lava nose strip
  • The Face Shop the Solution Brightening Mask

Things I let go of:

  • Sonia Kashuk Texture Taupe 08 eye shadow (gave it to mom)
  • SNP Grapefruit Gelato Brightening Mask x 2 (for the bridesmaid)
  • Various samples and minis for my wedding emergency kit!

I might have missed a few things in the hustle, but I’ll continue trying to track and use up more products. I have however acquired a few more beauty related things since the last post, so I’m not using things fast enough!

Sephora + Moschino Bear Lip Gloss Chain

I saw that this Moschino Bear x Sephora lip gloss thing was back in stock so I couldn’t resist getting my hands on it.

The gold bear fits any of the lip glosses that it comes with. Though I would never wear this as a chain, I love it as a decoration on my vanity. It is actually plated with 24k gold.

The lip glosses themselves are super pigmented and long-lasting without any sticky feeling.

My favourite is the Hollywood guilded copper gloss as it looks elegant on a night on the town.

What is your favourite of the lips colours?

Things I Used Up: February 2018

February was a short month, so I didn’t really get to use up too much stuff. However, it did encourage me to use up more samples and minis just so I would have things to write down in this list.

Products I used up:

  • Ciaté Fierce Flicks eyeliner
  • Tarte Drink of h20 mini
  • The Face Shop Silky and Soft Cotton Pads
  • Racine Delicare Soothing Mask
  • Sephora Instant Moisture + Cream (sample) x 2
  • Homer Simpson x The Face Shop Mask
  • Shiseido Senka Perfect Essence Silky (sample)
  • SNP Grapefruit Gelato Brightening Mask x 2
  • Tony Moly Master Lab Intense Hydrating Mask

I didn’t pan anything this month, but I’ve been trying to find every excuse to switch looks for every occasion, especially if I’m going out after work.

I’m sure March will have a fuller list as I get ready for my wedding!

Things I Used Up: January 2018

My New Years resolution was to try to use up more stuff before I acquire more of it. A lot of that is beauty stuff. I managed to not buy any of it the whole month of January and instead using more of my collection. It’s not just that I buy a lot, but I am frequently under the collector mindset that I shouldn’t “waste” anything, which is stupid since it’s more of a waste NOT to use the things.

My new vanity is helpful for displaying all I own so that I can be inspired every day to try out new products. I even realized I had so many free samples and minis that I decided to use up some so that I could have things to write in this list.

Here are some products I used up:

Here are items I panned (hit bottom but didn’t use up quite yet):

  • Mac Eyeliner Gel black – I hit pan and threw it out because it was getting old
  • Nars Orgasm/Laguna Duo

I decided to record when I hit pan because it’s just as rare as using something up! I have so many eyeshadows that I’m going to feel accomplished the one day those touch bottom.

BH Cosmetics Haul

A while back, I did a huge BH Cosmetics haul because everything was on super sale. All these things together costed around $50.

This Take Back Brazil palette was full of pigmented eyeshadows that are perfect for the base of an eye look.

This 12 piece brush set also came with the palette for free! The brushes are soft and blend make-up well. I find the burhs heads fall off the stick when they are washed though, so it requires some regluing to fix it.

I also grabbed this beautiful unicorn highlighter kit!

I want to learn how to contour better, so I also got a contour kit.

Lastly, this HD Brow Pencil was only a buck but super fine for precision.

Shu Uemura x Mario Travel Set

I love the entire Super Mario Shu Uemura collection and I totally couldn’t resist adding this travel set to what I already had.

Inside was a lip tint and cleansing oil mini as well as a pouch and eyelash curler! I coincidentally also was starting Super Mario Odyssey when I received this in the mail.

The beautiful cosmetic pouch has tons of pockets for all sorts of storage. It perfectly keeps any glass serum bottles protected so is good for travelling.

The best part of the set is this gold eyelash curler with the signature Power-Up star. Shu Uemura’s eyelash curlers are some of the best around and this is such a beautiful touch!

My New Years Resolution + Dream Vanity!

Happy New Year! This Christmas, I finally built the dream vanity I’ve always wanted. My sister got me the Micke Ikea workstation, which has a drawer perfect for palettes and cupboard for nail polishes and creams.

The mirror is from Amazon and makes me feel like a Hollywood Star. The lights have a dimmer so it could be adjusted to the desired level.

All my existing storage containers fit right beside it. The newest is a lipstick tower that fits over 80, and I somehow filled the entire thing. Yeah, I have that many lippies.

This is where my New Years Resolution kicks in. I want to try to use up more stuff before buying anything. I want to at least pan one colour in an eyeshadow palette before purchasing another, finish eyeliners, lipsticks, skin care before adding more to the collection. I still have a bunch of stuff I haven’t blogged about yet too.

I want to transfer this to other aspects of my life too. I have a lot of art supplies, hot sauces, video games that are left unfinished. This New Year, I want to get closer to the end of stuff before adding more to my life. It’ll help me both declutter and save some money. It’ll be an expensive year after-all with the wedding closing in fast!

Moschino + Sephora Bear Eyeshadow Palette

I wanted this Moschino + Sephora eyeshadow palette since the first announcement. I even tried on its August release date, but it sold out quickly and was removed from the store. I thought all hope was lost.

Then one-day last month I got an e-mail notification that it had been added back to the store. I logged on my computer and grabbed it in that instant. The bear just screams at me as a thing I need to have.

Inside the shadows are beautiful. Most of them are shiny, but there are some mattes to use with the shimmers. It even comes with a booklet on how to use some shadows together.
I swatched it lightly because I didn’t want to waste the precious shadows and it was very pigmented. The shimmers are so beautiful that photos don’t do it justice. This was totally worth the impulse buy.

I did my holiday party look with mostly this palette! It really made my eyes pop.
