My Sibling

It was National Sibling Day over the weekend and I dug up a few old photos of me and my sister. We used to be put in a lot of strange matching outfits and colourful dresses. I look like I’m a watermelon in the photo above.

I remember in elementary school a Blue Jay player visited and we had an assembly and we all received hats. To this day, I have no idea if my parents even knew what the hats were for. I don’t think they knew what the Blue Jays were at the time of this photo (but they obviously do now because of last year’s success).

It’s strange how time flies and to look back at these old photos. I’m lucky to have had someone to share a lot of my life with. We might not always get a long but I don’t know where I’d be without her.

Happy 85th Birthday Grandma!

Last weekend we celebrated my grandmother’s 85th birthday. My grandpa had passed away 2 years ago and grandma had some difficult times afterwards (including a stroke) but she is a strong woman. She has a crazy memory for her age and also an appetite for food that I totally inherited.

Seriously though, she lives for gatherings with people that involve going out and eating. It doesn’t matter what sort of physical ailments she goes through, the fact that we’re all there is enough to put a smile on her face!

What Sisters Are For

Today is my little sister’s 22nd birthday. I remember like it was yesterday when we used to pile all our stuffed animals and jump in them. I can’t believe that I have known a single a person for 22 years but I am grateful to have.

Here are some reasons why sisters are awesome:

  • they’ll pick you up at 3am in the morning
  • you can steal their candy
  • someone to put the blame on
  • someone to be retarded with
  • laughing at things that nobody else understands
  • teaming up against parents
  • someone to steal clothes from
  • they listen to you when no one else will

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIVIA!!

Photoset: Shit At My Grandparents’ House

My grandparents’ moved to Canada 30 something years ago and have lived in the same house ever since. Their home is filled with crazy trinkets. Some even have tags and packaging still attached. There is not a dull spot in their house which is void of colour or some form of craziness. They are the kind of people who have Christmas lights hung up all year round. There’s flowers on lamps (which is probably a fire hazard) and hidden birds everywhere. I decided with this wealth of strange things that I should capture some of it’s beauty in photos.

I Had No Idea How To Cook A Turkey.. But It Happened

I have no idea how to cook a turkey. Somehow, I was in charge of the task of cooking it this Christmas. My mother was too lazy, but we had a 15lb bird sitting in the basement freezer. It had to be roasted by someone.

Naturally, I turned to Google. What else do people do nowadays? when they approach an unknown task. We Google what we cannot Wiki.
