Instagram “Like” Necklace

IMG_9379I saw this adorable necklace the last time I ordered on Photojojo and had been thinking about it ever since. Then one day I gave in and impulsively ordered it.

IMG_9356IMG_9360I love their silly branding of always sending a dinosaur with every package. They even tell you that on the box. Not entirely sure why a little necklace needed a big box though.

IMG_9357IMG_9361The charm itself is a lot bigger than I thought it was in real life and sits on a shiny silver-plated chain. It’s a Photojojo exclusive made by modern jewellery company, Plastique.

IMG_9389It’s been a lovely accessory and conversation starter when meeting new people last week at CMW!

Tony Moly Appletox Honey Cream

IMG_6818
As you know, I’ve been obsessed with the Tony Moly store recently because of their adorable packaging and affordable prices. I recently picked up this moisturiser which came in a container shaped as an apple. It doesn’t have much branding on the outside or much information other than a sticker in Korean at the bottom.

IMG_6819Inside, the cover of the cream did say Tony Moly. It also came with a tiny spatula to prevent contamination of the product by dirty fingers.

IMG_6821The cream itself was yellow, and had a fresh apple smell, which I really enjoy. Upon doing some research, I found out it’s an AHA moisturiser, meaning it also exfoliates the skin. At the time of purchase, I had a giant pimple, but now it is gone and no new ones have appeared since using this product. It does a lovely job of keeping my skin smooth and minimalising wrinkles. A little goes a long way with this cream. I usually just dip the spatula (without scooping) and use what it catches for my face. It will probably last me for a couple of months even if I use it every day.

What other cute cosmetic products do you guys have in your collection? I’d love to know!

First Impressions: Tony Moly Latte Art Milk- Cacao Pore Pack

IMG_2613

As you may know from previous posts, I’ve been obsessed with Asian beauty products because of their adorable design and affordable prices. Plus, Asian people never seem to age so they must work right? Recently, I picked up this Cacao Pore Mask thing from Tony Moly. It came in an adorable mug shaped container!

IMG_2617

The product inside was multi-coloured and reminded me of the chocolate and vanilla soft serve mix from ice-cream trucks. It smelled like chocolate and Baileys Irish Cream.

IMG_2618

The directions said it had to all be mixed together before using. After mixing, it turned into a greyish brown. The mask is to be applied and left on for 10-15 minute before washing off. When I applied it there was a tingling and almost burning sensation for the first minute or so but it went away. I could feel my pores tightening and within 10 minutes, the mask was fully dry.

After I washed it off, my face was soft and smooth. I felt like it also lightened my skin and hid the redness that I usually have on my cheeks as well as temporarily hid my pores. Not bad for a product that was only $10! You can watch my live first impressions on Youtube. My favourite part was its chocolatey smell that was good enough to eat.

Loot Crate- December 2013 Edition

IMG_1314
December’s Loot Crate will be the final I’ll receive for a while. After too much holiday spending, I had to unsubscribe for the time being, until I have more extra income. Here’s what was inside! You can also watch my video unboxing here.

IMG_1303This month’s theme was Console Wars. Looks like things are still peaceful in this magnet of retro game controllers holding hands.

IMG_1300Every fighter needs some energy right? They gave some to us in the form of “Energems” bite sized mint chocolates. 3 of them apparently equals one energy drink. They also threw in a coupon for $1 off in case we need to recharge.

IMG_1307The more random (but awesome) of the items was the Tin-tastic activity kit from Funko. Inside each tin are stickers, pencils and erasers (mine are in the shape of Iron Man). The tin also makes great storage for any weird collectibles you might have.

IMG_1304I’m sure you’ve all experience the thing where your controller pads have fallen out leaving something that occasional cuts your thumbs. Well Grip It provided the solution to those problems with these mini pads.

IMG_1305Catbug and Impossibear look like they’re ready for war in this sticker.

IMG_1302So you can identify as a geek/gamer.

IMG_1311Last but not least is my favourite item, this mashup of Star Wars and the Console Wars idea. It’s so perfect for the theme.

You can get your own crates here! Use the code LOOT2014 for $3 off.

Loot Crate- November 2013 Edition

IMG_0844
On Friday I received my November Loot Crate! As a Canadian looter, this was the first time it arrived before the month was over and any spoiler newsletters were sent out. This box was particularly heavy. You can watch my video unboxing here or read about the items below.

IMG_0849 The theme of the month was Celebrate, which was appropriate since the Holiday seasons are upon us.

IMG_0848This month looters received random sets of playing cards. Mine happened to the Bicycle Guardians set. The dark colours make them the perfect mystery for magic tricks. Originally I thought they were inspired by Magic the Guardian, but they are based on ancient scriptural art.

IMG_0847It wouldn’t be a celebration without balloons and Loot Crate had us covered with this Tardis design. There was also this matching sticker, to turn every space into a public phone booth.

IMG_0850The most mysterious thing was the BFAST Shake. It’s the new breakfast on the go.

IMG_0846 Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah BATMAN! Mighty Wallet provided this interesting origami-made wallet. I can’t believe it’s made out of a single sheet of paper.

IMG_0851A party is not a party without music, and speakers to play them on. This month’s crate included these adorable South Park ones at random and I received Cartman.

IMG_0854Loot Crate came through with their promise of bubble wrap. They were to protect this last item, a literal shot glass. A proper celebration needs some drinks!

I’m excited for the December one (it is Christmas after all). It’ll probably sell out like last month but you can still sign up at: http://mbsy.co/lootcrate/176357 with $3 off!

TONYMOLY Kiss Kiss Lip Scrub

IMG_0670
I rarely post about products (unless they are social media or internet obtained), but lately I’ve had an obsession with Asian beauty products because of their adorable designs. In addition, they are super affordable. This lip scrub from Tony Moly comes in a lip shaped container.

The cream itself is white with little sand-like beads. There weren’t really any English instructions, or room for any, (since there wasn’t a box) so I figured it out by reading other people’s reviews of the product. I took a tiny amount and rubbed it on my lips for a minute or two and felt the granules rubbing off the dead skin. It didn’t hurt or anything. After washing it off, my lips felt much smoother!

I recommend this product for dry lips, or any one who is a chronic lip biter (like me). It makes lip stick and glosses last much longer the next day too.

12 Days of Holiday Bullshit by Cards Against Humanity

Uh, I totally signed up for this. As you learned from being a Loot Crate subscriber, I’m a sucker when it comes to receiving mysterious junk in the mail. Well, the makers of Cards Against Humanity will send you 12 presents for $12 ($22 if you live in Canada). There are only a limited number of slots left and as I write this, only 5327. You can sign up at 12 Days of Holiday Bullshit. Don’t worry, I’ll be documenting my gifts.

Loot Crate- October 2013 Edition

IMG_9648I finally received my October Loot Crate yesterday. Since it was the month of Halloween, the theme for October was “Survive”. You can check out my unboxing video on Youtube and check out the contents below.

IMG_9654Like the past crates, there was the official guide to all the box’s contents. Loot Crate also made these temporary tattoos so I could pick sides in the zombie apocalypse.

IMG_9649Online card service Open Me provided this adorable gut-loving card. The service which is affiliated with T-shirt Threadless allows you to send cards to people for only $4.

IMG_9657Oh and if you actually like guts, they’ve included some in candy form. I got a heart.

IMG_9653Loot Crate Labs also created these 8-bit game inspired buttons. I received two sets somehow!

IMG_9661IMG_9677My favourite item from this month’s crate was this T-shirt. It’s a mashup of Walking Dead and the Ewoks from Star Wars. So adorable!

IMG_9656Graphic Lab, the maker of the tee provided a $5 discount code and I’m now an official Zombie Hunter with this ID.

IMG_9662Since I am a Zombie Hunter now, this guide proves quite useful. I’ve seen this around in stores before but was never interested in zombies enough to buy it. Now that I own it, I’ll definitely read it out of curiosity.

Loot Crate has definitely outdone itself with these crates and the value within. If you use the code NEXTGEN: you ca save $3 on next week’s crate: http://mbsy.co/lootcrate/176357

Lovely Me:ex Masks from The Face Shop

IMG_7200I bought these masks from The Face Shop mainly because of the adorable packaging. There’s a third, but it’s mainly for breakouts which rarely happens nowadays. Both were very affordable at $6 each.

IMG_7195The Pore Ghassoul Mask is made from Moroccan ingredients and supposed to remove dirt as well as smooth and even skin tone.

IMG_7192The bottle inside was just as cute as the packaging! When you open it up, the product inside is not so appealing in colour (it’s grey). It’s a wash-off mask that is left on for 15-20 minutes. I found it worked very well at removing any oil on my face. I didn’t really notice a difference with blackheads but my face definitely felt clean and smooth.

IMG_7198The Waterful Grapefruit Mask is a sleeping mask that moisturises dry skin.

IMG_7196It also has a charming monkey container. The product is pink like the packaging and has a citrus smell. I found my skin totally sucks this up over night and does feel smoother but doesn’t stay hydrated for that long. Therefore it’s not that skin clogging and I use it a couple times a week. You don’t need to put a lot on your face so one package can last a very long time.

Face It Gradation Nail Polish

IMG_7420
When I was at the Face Shop a few weeks ago, I picked up this inexpensive nail polish set for $6ish.
IMG_7419
Inside are three different colours labelled 1, 2, 3. They are to be applied in layers from the inner nail bed to the tip of the nail resulting in a gradient effect.
IMG_7421
The above photo is a test with only one coat. I found the sparkles in bottle three to be a little bit too large to effectively apply on the tips-only. Otherwise, I love the colours together! You can watch me test it out in this vlog.

The full line of Face it Gradation Nail Polish is available on Amazon!
