I’m waiting for the ferry at Camp Wavelength and I will always find this sight beautiful.
Month: August 2016
I’m at Camp Wavelength!
I’m at Camp Wavelength this weekend! Follow my adventures on Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter. I even found a Pokemon gym near there:
Return to Yellow Griffin

For our burger anniversary date, we returned to The Yellow Griffin. It’s been a while since we were last there and they’ve introduced a few new burgers.

I had the Chilly Willy which was crispy onion strings, fried apples, and habanero BBQ sauce. It wasn’t too spicy but I loved the combination of hot and sweet. At Yellow Griffin you are able to choose what animal you want the patty to be and I decided to try camel. It was a tiny bit gamey but much like a regular burger otherwise.

Nash ordered the Maple Spice bison burger which was maple poached golden pear, caramelized onion, Italian prosciutto, smothered in brie.
Vinyl Me Please- August 2016 Edition

This month’s Vinyl Me Please edition is a special paint splatter vinyl version of My Morning Jacket’s Z. It also comes with a print of the album cover and a lyric book.
I was also lucky enough to receive the secret 7″ which is a new Amber Mark track. I can’t wait to see what I will get next month!

Simpsons Books
I seriously couldn’t believe that this wasn’t already a thing so I made this Tumblr.
Crossover Crisis

There was a super sale on Board Game Bliss so I picked up Crossover Crisis, a deck building game by Cryptozoic. It is also compatible with all other Cerebus Engine games that have a similar play style.

This set had characters from a bunch of Cartoon Network shows including Adventure Time, Dexter, Samurai Jack and Johnny Bravo. The point of the game is to collect as many strong cards as you can to gain the most victory points. This is done by strategically buying the cards in the middle of the table.
It was actually a very easy to pick up game and we can’t wait to try it with more people.
A Weekend Up North

This past weekend, we visited Nash’s hometown in Northern Ontario, Espanola.

I poked around at his old room and trophies.

And adorable paintings!

His father built a stage in their giant backyard and had a party where people performed.

Nash too!
It was a little bit rainy this weekend but we went out when we could to climb the mountain in the backyard and visit the lake.

It’s relaxing to be out of the busy city every once in a while.
Happy 5 Years!
I can’t believe Nash and I have been dating for 5 years. Time flashes by so fast when it feels effortless.
When I started this blog in November 2010, I was in a very different place and state of mind. After I met Nash, there were so many more posts because I was happier, and we started having so many adventures together worth talking about.
He’s my biggest daily supporter, favourite person and I don’t know where I’d be without him. We challenge each other to be our best selves.
Looking forward to more adventures to come!
Dollarama Review: Fish Shower Curtain

I haven’t written a Dollarama review in a while but I couldn’t resist posting about this fish shower curtain. The fish are so unbelievably derpy in their happiness.
The curtain itself is plastic and has metal rings, so it’s stronger than the one I accidentally ripped when I tripped in the shower. It is also slightly long for my shower and requires an extra ring.
This is guaranteed to bring you smiles every time you go into the washroom.
Go Canada and our Women Atheletes!

We’re relaxing up North and watching the Olympics. I’m proud to be Canadian and it’s super inspiring and exciting to see that our women are currently owning the medal count.
Despite this, the media has a long way to go when covering the success of women and the commentators are often cringe worthy. Instead of talking about their hard work training to get where they are, comments focus too much on trivial things.
We still have a long way to go in terms of equality but I’ll be cheering on the country, especially our girls!
