Doing some live tweeting tonight! Follow along. We’re currently the #2 trending hashtag in Canada behind the #TheBachelorette and an Ontario Storm of some sort.

ION VINYL ALIVE

My vinyl collection is growing and I have a mixture of new and second hand stuff. Some of the older stuff plays well but crackles with dust so I searched for a safe way to clean them and picked up this ION Vinyl Alive on Amazon.

Inside is a cleaning liquid and a brush made of a soft micro fibre cloth.

Now I can make my old vinyl all shiny again!
Cupcake Socks

Bought these new adorable cupcake socks last weekend at Bestival form Sock it To Me. Find me sporting them around at NXNE today and say hi!
At NXNE
Craft Brews: Grow a Pear, Lemon Tea Beer, Hopping Mad, Peach Mead
I love trying craft brews, especially the ones with awesome packaging and branding. Here are a few that I picked up recently.

Grow A Tree pear cider from Double Tree brewing. This one was sweet but had a tartness that made it stand out from other pear ciders which are usually way too sweet.

This Mill Street Lemon Tea Beer was smoother than regular beer but I honestly couldn’t really taste the lemon in it.

Central City’s Hopping Mad Cider Radler was an cool blend of apple and grapefruit. It was kind of like fruit punch and went down super easy.

I bought this Peach Mead for Nash by The Trafalgar Club. If you want to feel a buzz this thing is like 8.5%. It’s a beautiful blend of honey and peach and recommended you drink this one chilled.
Donut Beach Blanket
At Bestival there was a tent full of adorable cute stuff on sale (basically me in a store) and I found the best beach blanket ever.
It’s shaped as a gigantic half donut. I have found my new festival blanket. It’s perfect for sitting on with a few friends or taking a fetal position nap.
This is the best purchase I have ever made.

New Blog Look!

It’s been a while since I updated the look of this blog. I got comfortable with what I had. My previous layout was a customized version of Forever, a wedding theme.
I think I outgrew it a little over the past 6 months, but I could never find the next look, one that fit me and didn’t require featured images (because it would require a lot of back-work). Finally, I chose a premium theme (I am still a part of the WordPress.com) community and also upgraded to a premium plan, as I was finally reaching the 3GB limit after 5 years.
My blog tends to be very image heavy and this theme lends itself well to it! Scroll down and look at some of the posts below with full-sized images.
Welcome to the new look of my daily journal!
Bestival 2016 Eats

Bestival happened this weekend and I had a few snacks while there. Here are a few of the things I stuffed my face with. The first was Eva’s Original Chimney in Apple Pie. It was an ice cream in a donut-like pastry and it was filled with apple pie stuffing. It felt like a warm hug.

This Jerk Chicken Mac and Cheese (forgot the truck name) was ok, a little on the cold side but full of delicious chicken and peas.

A panda from Tokyo Smoke made me a latte shaped out of a panda out of their mobile coffee shop that was bicycle powered.

Lastly, I had this delicious and juicy Jerk Chicken & Mango sandwich from Come and Get It.
I’m coming for you Toronto food trucks!
These Are Not Cats
Sometimes when I walk home late at night, I see something scurry in front of me and think “oh how cute a kitty” but upon closer inspection it is almost always a raccoon. A few nights ago I saw two. In Toronto they are unafraid of humans, but are territorial.
I snapped these cuties from a distance with my phone. There was a bit of hissing being on so I had to be careful! What sort of animal neighbours do you have on your street?
Vinyl Me Please: June 2016 Edition

I just received this month’s Vinyl Me Please selection in the mail! It’s an exclusive VMP pressing of Wells Fargo’s Watch Out in green. Inside there is a 20-page book of liner notes and a print by Saghon Kim.
I love that Vinyl Me Please chooses both modern and classic records. I’ve only been seriously collecting for over a year and it’s overwhelming to try and collect older stuff because I don’t know where to start. At least this way, I get my hands on some seriously good stuff.
