Glovely Touchscreen Gloves

DSCF6887-2

My boss gave me a pair of glovely touch screen gloves for Christmas! Maybe he thinks I am on my phone too much (sometimes). These are awesome. The entire glove is touch screen compatible (not just the tips like most gloves). They also have a little magnetic logo to keep both gloves together for all the clutsy people who lose gloves (me).

Last but not least, the tag is even a microfibre glove. Now I can stay warm while I tweet and blog this winter.

Michael Kors Backpack

DSCF6872

Last night, I purchased my first thing ever at Holt Renfrew. It’s not my usual shopping destination by any means but I really loved Michael Kors’ line of Rhea backpacks and I found one I had my heart set on there. The only problem was I had no clue how to buy anything at Holtz. I just kind of stood and stared at the backpack until someone asked me if I wanted help. They were super nice and even offered me water.

So now I’m a proud owner of the cutest edgy backpack (that I will use in lieu of my dying purse). It even fits my DSLR! Quality pieces you love are always worth purchasing once in a while.

Tetris Cushions

My couch needed some cushions so I decided to order these Tetris blocks from ThinkGeek. A set of 5 costs $99, which is on the pricier side but it’s such a unique statement piece. I considered making them but the materials alone would’ve costed me around the same.

They are super comfy and huggable and now I can play Tetris irl.

The downside to shopping online

I’m a total addict to shopping online. It’s so convenient to pick up everything you need at one location (the post office).

The downside is that you don’t always get what you expect. For example, I thought I ordered myself a cutlery rack for my dishwasher only to find out that this wasn’t what it was for at all! I did however get some entertainment value out of the packaging.

I still try to use it for cutlery.

New Cutting Board

DSCF6047

I never thought about getting a new cutting board until I saw this adorable one at Kitchen Stuff Plus.

DSCF6048

The board comes with four mats that can be used on top to keep the board itself clean and avoid cross-contamination. This one has a board for vegetables, poultry, fish and other meats.

I love the simple colourful design.

Dollarama Review: Champagne Dreams Bubble Bath

DSCF3738

Though it may look like it, this isn’t a bottle of champagne, it’s a bottle of bubble bath. At $2 it comes with several different scents but I decided that Fresh Strawberries was a nice thing to smell like.

I ran a warm bath and poured half the 300mL bottle into the water. Bubbles were generous and there was a lovely calming strawberry scent. Definitely worth it for a nice relaxing time in the tub.

My First Bunz Trade

I finally got invited to Bunz Trading Zone, a secret Facebook group where people trade their useless stuff for things they need. No money is allowed. The philosophy behind it is that things aren’t really worth their money value if they are not being used.

One of my first posts was for my Smithers minifigs. I wrote “Have 3 Smithers need to get rid of 2.” I got an overwhelming number of responses. It’s amazing how many people will reply if you post anything, even empty bottles. Your garbage is someone  else’s treasure.

I traded one of the Smithers for this today. An Ionix Ash in the box. I wouldn’t have even know this existed if it weren’t offered to me. Now I can’t wait to build it!

The other Smithers trade will happen over the weekend along with something else. I am just so excited with the possibility of treasure trading! This is so much fun.

Dollarama Reviews: Kozmic Colours

DSCF2687

$3 for 4 nail polishes sounded like a total steal. I’ve never heard of Kozmic Colours before but these are so cheap that I couldn’t not try them!

DSCF2689

Plus, I love these pastel colours. They are so appropriate for summer. I tested the teal colour.

DSCF2691

Boom! Not bad right? I used two coats on all my fingers. It goes on thin, so you do need multiple layers but it was relatively easy to apply. I’ve had it on for a few days now and it hasn’t chipped. Definitely not a bad buy.

Adorable Shirts from TeeTurtle

DSCF2673

Ok, I admit I clicked on a Facebook ad. It led me to TeeTurtle, a site that sells cute, nerdy T-shirts! I ordered two as a test for $12 each, which is a decent price for original prints. My order came in an adorably packaged envelope with the site mascot. Wouldn’t you be so excited if you saw this in the mail?

DSCF2674

The first shirt was this “Pokermon” T-shirt. Get it?

DSCF2678

It’s such a corny joke but look how adorable they all are.

DSCF2675

My second choice was a more girl power print with a bunch of princesses gossiping by a fire. I think Sleeping Beauty is my favourite part of this.

DSCF2676

This one looks a bit looser because I accidentally ordered a “standard T-shirt” instead of a Women’s T-shirt, which are usually cut differently. That’s okay though! I love this print so much.

The prints are vivid and great quality. The fabric is comfy and soft. It also arrived sooner than I thought, since the shipping wasn’t very expensive (around $2).  I’ll definitely be browsing the site for more cute tees soon.

Dollarama Reviews: Warhead Freezies

DSCF2334

I didn’t know Dollarama sold freezies, let alone Warhead flavoured ones! I couldn’t resist trying these out. They come in 4 flavours: watermelon, blue raspberry, apple and black cherry.

Of course they must be chilled a day before you actually eat them. My first reaction to the pops was “hey this isn’t too sour” but then after about 5 seconds you get the note of sour. I wouldn’t say it was “extreme”, it is just the right amount of sour to both tease your tastebuds and make them still edible.
