I’m currently in Quebec for Festival D’été. It’s all sorts of magical. I’m going to spend the day time exploring the city, so I’ll get back at you with more blog posts tomorrow.
For now, you can enjoy this video of P!nk flying over the crowd.

We’re less than a week away from voting. How great would it be if we woke up on October 20th and Harper was no longer in power?
Don’t forget to vote on the 19th! I already did with advanced voting over the weekend. If everyone votes we can really have a better country on October 20th. Vote with your heart, not strategically. If everyone turns up to vote for who they believe in, I truly believe that Harper wouldn’t be in power.

Instagram has helped me discover places that I didn’t know existed in Ontario. One of those things was Scarborough Bluffs park. It’s a beautiful area with cliffs and beaches that looks like you went to some tropical location. A few are dangerous and out of bounds but people frequently hop the fence to take photos anyways. It’s also by a water-treatment plant so not all the water is super clean. We stopped by for some quick photos when we were coming back from Woofstock.
When we were driving back the sunset was a beautiful pink:
It’s fun to have adventures and explore the nooks and crannies of the places in cities nearby!

While in PEI, we did a ridiculous amount of eating and I thought some places deserved their own posts. One of these places was The Big Orange Lunchbox.
We happened to be in PEI during Porktoberfest and there was plenty of options for the pork lover here. I thought I’d go all out and get what was named as the 50 Shades of Pork (pictured at top of post). It was an island pork chorizo patty, topped with BBQ pulled pork, tomato bacon jam, carmelized onions, fried mozarella sticks and mustard aoli. This thing left me in a delcious coma but it was all worth it.
Nash and I kind of fought over who would order the 50 Shades of Pork but ultimately I ended up winning. Anyways he ended up getting something totally different and got the scallop burger. We weren’t sure if it was going to be scallops grinded in a patty or not but it turns out there were a couple of juicy fresh ones between the bun.
If we stayed longer in PEI, we probably would have visited this place like 10 more times as the menu had so many other goodies to eat!
The majority of my PEI trip involved wedding-related activities. The wedding took place at the PEI Brewing Company. We spent some time there making necessary preparations and I snapped a few photos during regular hours:

This fella sounded like a real life version of Catbug.
The family of the bride and groom rented out cottages for the week. The view from there was peaceful and beautiful.

We were frequently greeted by a friendly fox:

One of the nights we attended an all-you-can-eat dessert event in support of PEI’s Autism Society. We were spoiled with delicious treats:

We had our nails painted by her mother:

The night before the wedding the girls booked a hotel room. The staff built us towel swans with hearts.

We could see downtown Charlottetown below:

Laura had an official wedding photographer for her special day, so I didn’t take many photos but here are a few random ones from that day:

I had a great time in PEI. I hope to be back in the East Coast soon to do more exploring (and eating)! I couldn’t leave without buying these:

Nash and I are currently in Prince Edward Island for my best friend’s wedding next weekend. We had a little bit of time to explore over the past few days, so here’s what we did so far.

We tried Gahan Craft Beer. This Honey Wheat Ale had a nice sweetness to it. This could possibly be the most Canadian looking beer.

The next morning we had breakfast at Phinley’s, where poutine for breakfast is a thing!
We then went to a pumpkin patch to pick a few up. We got some decent sized ones for only $3!
I enjoyed these bales of hay in the form of Angry Birds.
We considered a gigantic pumpkin for a moment.
Laura has two sweet cats which were adopted. This is Maddie.
Here are more random cat photos:

Don’t they just look like sweethearts?
On Saturday we went to see Rich Aucoin at the PEI Brewing Company. We happend to walk in when an art battle was just ending. Aucoin himself was painting something!
On Sunday, we explored downtown Charlottetown. This year, they celebrated the 50 year anniversary of the 1864 Canadian Confederation Conference. Here is Laura and I with a gigantic 2014.
This cruise ship looked rather familiar.
How could we go to the east coast without visiting a Cows Icecream?

Mmmmmmmm.
The weather was warm over the weekend so we had a chance to walk along the water and in town.

I spent Labour Day weekend at Nash’s parents’ place in Espanola, a town of around 5000 people in Northern Ontario. It was rainy all weekend but I still tried to take some photos of the beautiful scenery and other random things.
This is their fat kitty named Beans.
So cute, so fat.

This is a giant mushroom, almost the size of a soccer ball.

The atmosphere was so calm. It was nice to get away from the city.
On the last 2 days, the boat was making its way back to our starting port in Fort Lauderdale. When we went to breakfast Saturday, there was a Chocolate station. Mom got mad at me for eating chocolate everything for breakfast:
Since it was our last day, I walked around the ship and took some more random photos including the jazz bar and a dessert cafe (which you didn’t have to pay additional for).
Mid-day the kitchen staff held a hilarious cooking show and then took us on a tour of one of the kitchens. It is so incredibly spotless!

We didn’t arrive at Grand Turks until later in the afternoon. We spent the morning at an outlet sale and another art auction. Since we had time we also went to the dining room for a fancy meal. I had calamari, gazpacho, lamb and a cherry trifle for dessert.
When we arrived at Grand Turks around 1. I totally get why people can spend a week here just relaxing.
This conch tells the weather.
My sister wanted to go shopping so her and mom stayed in the tourist area while me and dad went exploring. We took a 5 minute taxi to Governor’s Beach. It was far more quiet than the area by the boat docks. Though it was around 29 degrees on the island, it was the perfect temperature when you immersed yourself in water.
We woke up very early on Day 5 too find ourselves at Saint Thomas, one of the US Virgin Islands.
My parents had already been here on a previous Caribbean cruise so we took a boat 30 minute boat ride to another island called Saint John. Here are some things I saw on the boat ride:
Alligator rock:
Somehow got this pretty straight photo despite a shakey ride:
At Saint John, we took an open safari (bus with no windows) tour to views that looked like true paradise. I’ve never seen water so beautifully coloured in my life.
