I went to a party the other day where there was a photo booth! There were physical copies to take home but I lost mine over the course of the night. Luckily, they were all digitalized too so here are some fun photos from the weekend of my friends and I!

A Photo of Toronto’s Music Industry

A few months ago, someone made a Facebook event asking all of Toronto’s music industry to gather together at Trinity Bellwoods Park for a photo. Well, it happened yesterday and hundreds of people showed up. The result is above!
My friend Stephen and I pre-shoot.
The lovely Rochelle Latinsky also took this lovely headshot of me.
Although there was a great turnout, I do wish that there was a bit more diversity in the photo. I’m 99% sure that I am the only Asian and I don’t see many people of colour. This is somewhat reflectant of how the industry is, but not what it should/could be. I do know many different types of people in the industry, let’s hope that next year they show up!
Terre Bleu Lavender Farm
Yesterday, my parents and I visited Terre Bleu Lavender farm near Milton. Unfortunately, a cold winter and late frost in May has stunted their growth so they weren’t as long and purple as they could have been.
What did grow was still a beautiful purple and spelt wonderful and relaxing. I took a tour of the facility and learnt a great deal about the healing properties of lavender.
The place has only been open to public for the past 2 years. A beautiful wooden shop acts as the main entrance.
There were a few different types of lavender for different uses, cooking, oil production etc. It takes many rows of lavender in order to create a few millilitres of oil, which explains why pure oil is so expensive!
They also had their own bee hives, which were seeing a decrease in bees due to spraying of pesticides. Terre bleu produces it’s own pure lavender honey.
After the tour ended, we had some lavender ice cream from the shop. It was delicious!
Teddy loved the smell of the fields.
Here are some more random photos and selfies.
My First Atomic Lollipop
Nash and I attended our first ever Atomic Lollipop this past Friday and Saturday. It’s a unique convention that was a mixture of Comicon, Anime North with the 90s mixed in.
There were many stores and shops with cute things to buy.
A game room with video game consoles from all eras including duck hunt (which we were super terrible at). I still can’t understand how to aim.
Friday night, they brought to life the Much Video Dance parties of my high school days. Later in the night, it filled up with the people dancing to the music of their childhood. I saw videos from the Venga Boys, Eiffel 65 and Chumbawamba.
Areas of the science centre were open to us so we played around with this age testing machine.
Nash checking out a hologram heart.
There was a nerd circus where the performers all cosplayed!
We participated in a POG tournament. Do you remember pogs? The real game was harder than I remembered! We got crushed by a girl who could flip the entire stack at once.
The hilariously costumed Tupperware Remix Party provided soundtracked a glittery dance party.
Ghetto Mario Kart was the best. It was literally RC cars with knives and balloons taped together. Let’s try this at home.
There were so many adorable things to buy! I picked up this adorable food bracelet. How could I not??
There was free retro arcade games and pinball machines. That Star Wars pinball was super hard.
This guy truly gave crap advice.
Cold brew coffee paired well with the hot weather.
We played archery tag. It was my first time trying archery and I wasn’t very good at aiming but it was so much fun! They provided us with 10 minutes of training before we were headed off for a game of tag with 10 people.
Nash sat on a panel where he was a Pokemon master and described how to draw a Pokemon to someone who has no idea what they looked like.
Can you guess what Pokemon these guys are?
There was a nerf gun battle on Saturday night. Unfortunately we didn’t bring any guns but we observed people shooting each other for a bit.
Saturday’s evening entertainment included Elijah Wood DJing with his duo Wooden Wisdom.
Then one of my 90s dreams came true and I saw Prozzak reunite! REMEMBER PROZZAK?!
Before heading out we saw the fire circus performance which thankfully waited for all the Prozzak fans to be done!
Atomic Lollipop was truly a magical experience and I’m looking forward to what adventures they’ll bring next year.

Sweet Weekend
It’s rare I have a weekend where I have nothing planned so I headed over to Market 707, where shipping containers were converted into restaurants and shops.
As my avid readers know, my friend Steph has a little café called Petit Nuage there that specializes in French macarons and cream puffs. For the summer, she even has a patio where you can enjoy tea and coffee (iced options available!).
The inside of the shop has changed a bit since I last went. There are now shelves with teas and other things for sale!
I enjoyed a piece of matcha tea cake on the patio. It was delicious and beautiful.
I also picked up half a dozen macarons which came in an adorable box with a print of kittens having a tea party. Naturally, I took photos of the macarons before eating them. Enjoy some photos below:
Why I Bought A Mirrorless Camera
A few weeks ago, I compulsively bought the Fujifilm x100t, a compact mirrorless camera. It was the second day of Bestival, and I had spent the first day lugging around a DSLR after I was told that photo passes were super limited. I still wanted to have access to a decent camera the second day but knew that it wasn’t worth carrying my entire DSLR kit.
Fast forward few weeks later and I regret nothing of my compulsive buy. This camera is amazing. The 23mm fixed lens has an aperture of f2 so it has great possibilities. The 35mm lens used to be one of my favourites on my DSLR and this is the equivalent on a crop frame. Sure, I can’t zoom but the limitations allows to be a more creative photographer.
That being said, this camera is super sharp, works better at times than my 60D in low light and is so super light that I can carry around everyday. Now there’s no excuse for my social media and blog photos not to be perfect quality!
As you can see this is one powerful little camera!

Happy 4th Birthday Teddy!
Today Teddy turns 4 years old. I can’t believe time flies by so fast. It feels like not long ago that he entered our lives and changed it in ways we could never seem possible.

Recently, we celebrated his birthday with a homemade cake! Here are some more random photos of Teddy:
