I remembered when Pinterest was beta and it was like an exclusive club where recipes and ideas were shared visually. I loved it. It was a place to look for inspiration when it came to food, crafts, fashion and decorations. Now it almost seems nothing more than another place where people can advertise.
On my music blog I started making video album reviews. It was definitely something that I had my doubts of doing because of some great fear of not being liked or that people would make fun of me. It has only been a few weeks, but here are some things that I took away experience so far:

Me and my boyfriend didn’t really want to make a big deal out of Valentine’s Day, especially since we’re still both in job hunt mode. I decided to look to Pinterest for some DIY card designs. Here is the front of the card I made:
The paper heart was inspired by this love note pin. The skittles represent a chapter in the beginning of our relationship. Before we dated, when we had just started talking, I was eating a pack of Skittles and told him I hated the green ones. I also blurted out that I would love the boy who would eat my green Skittles. He told me he liked green Skittles. It’s funny because we had not even thought of each other as date-able material at that point but it’s one of our first memories as friends.
Cats have taken over the internet for too long. It’s time for dogs to take over. Let’s start with my bichon puppy Teddy. He just got neutered so there’s a cone stuck on his head for a bit. He’s his normal active self after a day and here’s a video of Teddy attempting to play with ball with a cone on his head.
My best friend and I are both in somewhat new relationships and we have discussions on whether or not we should keep it private in the online world. I have to admit that I made things Facebook official with Nash the moment we started dating. The world knowing wasn’t a problem for us.
I think part of my desire to do this however stemmed from my past relationship with someone who was kind of deviant when it came to online activity. He would hide our relationship, flirt and cheat with girls he had met online. This is the negative aspect of relationships in the social media age. There are just terrible people out there. And the internet only makes cheating easier.
My best friend decided to not make her relationship Facebook Official and she was right to do so. It should be a private affair between two people, and the world doesn’t necessarily need to know, only those you both wish to tell. In addition, If you have any doubt of trust in someone, than you shouldn’t be together in the first place. The people who will cheat online would cheat in real life too.
Everyone doesn’t need to know the second you date, or end a relationship. We all know those people who change their statuses way too often for attention. It’s all personal preference, but not a necessity to decide to make things public.
The more I think about it now, I trust Nash with all my heart and although we’re both highly active in our own online outlets, I know I have nothing to worry about. Whether or not the world knows, shouldn’t affect us either way. We know how important we are to one another.

I’ve recently become quite addicted to the visual pleasures that make up new social networking site Pinterest. You might ask.. “WTF.. isn’t it just like Tumblr?”. The truth is, it’s not.
You probably read a lot of different articles that talk about the importance of content in gaining followers but nobody really talks about the importance of character and personality. I find the people I remember and engage with the most over social networks are those with amiable personalities. The tweets that were retweeted the most on my own feed are strangely also my own random thoughts or life happenings. Sure content is important, but knowing your online character goes a long way. It all really comes down to one question: What do you want to be known for?
Yesterday I read a really interesting article on Behyped on why you should start a blog while unemployed. I recently entered this mysterious realm myself. And it’s scary.
I’ve been in school for what seemed like forever (elementary, highschool, University, and the Entertainment program at Metalworks). Being finally out is sort of frightening as I try to figure out how to find employment in an exciting yet highly competitive industry. I however find myself more and more addicted to blogging as a strange way to cope with doing nothing.
As you may or may not know, I LOVE my social networks. I’m on pretty much everything that anybody actually uses and I actually try to actively keep up with them. If I follow or list you on Twitter, I read about 75% of tweets that go through my timelines. Now with this Facebook timeline thing, I’m sort of doing the same on Facebook as well. I’m pretty much up to date on everything, so much that if you were to ever show me a new meme, I’ve probably already seen it hours or even days ago.
I have a lot of friends in real life who like to ask me about Twitter and how on earth I gained so many followers. What I always say is, you have to keep your audience Engaged.
What this means is that you have to interact with others, and provide content that people can comment and interact on. Phrase things in a way that can create conversation and be retweeted. Sure I have the random odd tidbits of my life on my timeline, but often those are the things that don’t keep an audience. Nobody needs to know how your day at work is sucking, unless you can tell them a funny story
