It’s getting cold here but my hands are totally ready with these new mitts I got at work!

I Binged On Master of None

I spent most of the weekend bing watching on Aziz Ansari’s new Netflix series Master of None. It was so great. I think my favourite part of it was the real life lessons and (often taboo) topics were covered in meaningful ways. I won’t give away any spoilers so I think you should go watch it before someone else does!
Sweet Jesus Pt. 2
I returned to Sweet Jesus with my cousin before it got too cold because I wanted to try some more of their insane cones.
I had the cookies and cream cone chocked full of Oreo goodness!
My cousin tried the Krusty the Cone, the most Instagram worthy thing in the store. It’s a little on the sweet side since it is all sugary stuff after all!
Khao San Road
I finally visited Khao San Road with my cousin. The restaurant does not take reservations but we only had to wait around 15 minutes for a table two during dinner service. We ordered two dishes the Kua Gling and Kha Soi.
The Khua Soi, which I ordered with shrimp, was a golden curry with coconut milk and crispy noodles. At Khao San Road, you can choose between a bunch of different spice levels. I did a level 3 out of a possible 11. 3 was already a decent level of spicy but the coconut milk in this dish helped cool down the tongue. The curry was super flavourful and I loved the crunchy noodles.
The Kua Gling was a shredded meat dish and we chose chicken as the protein. We also chose spice level 3 on this dish but it felt a lot spicier than the other one.
To go with my dinner I had some Singha, a Thai beer. I found it relatively light and refreshing between bites of curry.
You might have to wait for a table at Khao San Road, but their flavourful curries are definitely worth it!
IONIX Ash
I finally opened the Ionix Ash I received via Bunz Trading Zone.
It opens up to 9 pieces sort of like Lego Mini figs, only more like a mini robot.
Behold Ash bot!

Enchanted Forest Colouring Book
I craved to the adult colouring book craze. It is an activity that is super relaxing and gets your creative juices going. Colouring between intricate lines gets you focused on something else besides a busy life. It’s also relatively inexpensive to buy one with beautiful line work. My sister has Johanna Basford’s Secret Garden, so I thought I’d get her second book Enchanted Forest.
Can you believe this is just the cover page? It’s still a work in progress but it is done with a set of 50 markers. I think I’m going to do different sets of markers, pens, pencils, paint on each page since I own a lot of unused art supplies. I’ll be blogging my favourite pages as I make my way through this book.

Bare Burger
Every year for Nash’s birthday, we seek out a new delicious burger joint to try. Since we’ve tried so many, I looked to Zomato for suggestions and they sent me two lists. Bareburger was on both lists and it was one we hadn’t heard of yet!
The place specializes in organic, free range meats, though that wasn’t the reason we were there. We just like burgers. I ordered the Southern Caviar burger (pictured above) which had bison, pimento cheese, back bacon, stout onions, horseradish remoulade on a brioche bun. Everything went really well together and their house bacon is so delicious! The meat was juicy and cooked very well.
Nash had the El Matador which had bison, cheese curds, pickled jalapenos, guacomole, green leaf, spicy pico de gallo on a brioche bun. This was super messy but so worth getting hands dirty for. So much gooey goodness going on here.
We also ordered the Macho Fries which were crunchy fries topped with jalapeno, guacomole, pico de gallo, pepperjack cheese and a sauce with a kick. These were so good we finished the entire giant bowl AND our burgers.
To wash things down I sipped a Figs & Bacon. I didn’t know I was supposed to put the bacon in the drink so I just ate it. Hahahahaha it was worth it (because their bacon is delicious).
Nash had The Mexican which was a happy hour drink with tequila and ginger beer.
We were super impressed with the burgers. They were both fantastic combinations of ingredients and didn’t leave us feeling like we were dying. Definitely a highly recommended burger place.
Happy Halloween Weekend!
Hope you are having a fantastic Halloween weekend full of treats. Teddy dressed as a horse this year with a cowboy riding on his back!
