LG Music Flow P5 Bluetooth Speaker

dscf3796Thanks to LG Canada, I recently received a LG Music Flow P5 Bluetooth Speaker for review.

dscf3798The packaging was very compact. It is just enough room for the snug speaker inside.

dscf3811The contents of the box are super simple: speaker, USB cable for charging and super concise instructions.

dscf3812By simple instructions, I mean this. Only two steps that you can do in under a minute!

dscf3799 The sound was impressive for a small speaker. I was testing it with Apple Music (because that’s what the kids are using these days right?) and the sound was very clear and there was decent low end and high end. As well, the volume levels could get impressively high without sounding compressed or crackling, which is usually an issue with small bluetooth speakers.

dscf3802I do own and use Harmon Kardon Aura speakers as my main living room speakers but the lightness and wire-free LG Music Flow speakers allow me to bring it in the kitchen, washroom or laundry with ease. It’s not waterproof though, so don’t actually bring it in the shower!

The 2100mAh battery last approximately 15 hours. It takes about 3 hours to charge the entire thing but I plugged the USB into my iPhone block and it didn’t seem that bad. It also turns off by itself when it’s idle to help save power.

dscf3813When I paired it to my phone for the first time, it recommended me an official Bluetooth app that allows me to control the volume on my phone.

One interesting feature is that you can actually pair two phones to the one speaker at the same time. Not sure why anyone would need to do this but you could have some playlist war with your roommate if you wanted! If you have two speakers, they can be paired to create a stereo sound.

dscf3809While it’s not my main house speaker, the LG Music Flow P5 Bluetooth speaker makes the perfect portable companion.

Want your own LG Music Flow P5 speaker? I’m giving one away on Ride the Tempo!

100+ Simpsons Books Collected So Far

Last month, I started a random Tumblr that collects books seen on the Simpsons. Ever since I started doing this, every episode has at least one, either a real, parody or books you wish existed. I’ve already posted over 100.

Here are a few of my favourites:

Describe Yourself in 3 Fictional Characters

A few days ago, everyone was doing this:

I compared myself to these 3 stars of their respective shows. Anxiety makes me feel like someone is watching my life like a TV show and hey I am the star of my own blog.

Anyway, I always related to Serena from Sailor Moon. She’s a clutz, so am I. No matter how hard I try, I always have the stupidest stuff happen to me. For example my toilet exploding, or tripping over a mop I put somewhere two seconds ago. Despite this, Serena is the main hero of the show, a princess, someone important and she doesn’t let her funnier side get in the way of that.

Pikachu is the rebellious one. He chooses not to follow the status quo and remain in his Pokeball. He has the most personality out of all the Pokemon on the show. Also he has cheek dimples and I do too.

Lastly, Daria is quite cynical, introverted and smart and often called “the brain” in school. That is the story of my entire public school life.

There you have it. The amalgamation of these 3 characters make me.

Why Is Everyone Liking My Old Tweet?

52 days ago when I was at Sappy, I bought a hat and tweeted this:

Today I saw it blow up for some reason for many hours. I was very confused considering it was an old tweet. I started to wonder if I ended up on Reddit or a post on Mashable or something. So I did what most people would do: I Googled it.

I then found out I am part of this Twitter moment called “What do you look like?” that is on the first page of the Moments tab on the app.

I’m not sure why I’m on there but at least the mystery of where the Likes came from is solved! Moments are an interesting feature that shows tweets from trending topics or events in one place.

Longform Journalism is Still Interesting

I read the most gripping news story last night and it was written by Buzzfeed.

As we morn the death of Gawker, it’s important to realize that journalism (especially alternative journalism) is still important. We’re living in a world where the person with the highest pocketbooks get to dictate the message.

The younger generations have created sites like Buzzfeed, Vice etc to share the important stories, while also monetizing the site effectively with memes and lists. Both have their share of cringe-worthy posts but they are also delivering pieces that wouldn’t have been written or discussed anywhere else in the same way. They’re asking the tough questions and challenging what is not being said elsewhere.

But still it’s scary that someone could maybe come along and decide their fate.

I Choose You Pikachu!

Are you playing Pokemon Go? So am I! I’m on team blue. To start, I chose Pikachu!

Beoplay H2 Headphones

DSCF1491

I fell in love with these BeoPlay H2 by Bang & Olufsen when I saw them online.

DSCF1492

The packaging was beautiful. There were a bunch of cute directions like “Pull me” “Lift Up” etc.

DSCF1493

The design of these headphones are so simple and elegant.

DSCF1494

I ordered mine in Shaded Rosa. The headphones are decorated with pink cloth accents and come with a pink cord.

DSCF1495

The ear pads are made out of a luxurious feeling lamb skin.

DSCF1504

They are also decorated with giant L and R so I’ll never forget which side is which.

DSCF1498

The headphones adapt to the size of your head as you wear them. I was a bit afraid that my head would be too big (a comment that often comes up in reviews) but I have a gigantic head and don’t feel uncomfortable at all! There’s also an inline remote and volume control that work great on my iPhone and my MacBook Air.

I’m super impressed by the quality of these earphones. The sound is warm and I can hear a lot of detail in the trebles which I find is something that is usually lacking in more bass heavy stuff on the market.

Addicted to Uber Eats #playacabana

A post shared by Tiana Feng (@tianafeng) on

I didn’t do a lot of deliveries when I moved out. I don’t think I’ve ever ordered a pizza in this apartment, but lately I’ve really been into using Uber Eats. There are higher end restaurant selections so I don’t need to settle for regular student-geared menus.

I also like obsessively watching over the status of my order and the route the car is taking to get here. The only thing is it is a tiny bit pricey but so are the restaurants that are on there.

I’d never give up actually going into local eateries though. I miss the atmosphere and the thoughtfulness of non-jammed-in-a-box presentation that you only get while dining in.

Do you use new food delivery services? Let me know your thoughts!
